September 11 - 3 years later

I wrote this September 2002 and, sadly, it still is so true today:

rivers of flags
oceans of flowers
materializing the event of
the attack on the twin towers

our peace suddently stolen
on the 11th of september
a tragic flashback
pearl harbor, 7th of december

but all we see is the red, white, blue
blind to what our government has turned this country into
individual rights are no longer a priority
free speech on hold without our authority

you were a fruit loop last year, as well as this year.... what exactly should "our country" have done differently? make peace with a terrorist? dont you ever refer to america as your own, if your not willing to support it. not one particular party (political) or person, but the country.

I support the country, not the government. I didn't say make peace with terrorists, but I don't know how attacking Iraq made the situation any better. Iraq had nothing to do with Al-Qaeda, all now we have thousands of more people who hate us and are willing to kill themselves to hurt us. What a great thing we've done huh? And America is mine, just like it is yours. Supporting the government blindly doesn't make you patriotic, it makes you ignorant.
