Work Update and a Damn Good Book!
Not much in the way of news going on. I am working on renting out the second half of my office, which I'm currently not using. I figure someone could use it, considering it is fully furnished and includes a computer, monitor, and internet. I'm going to put up an ad on Craigslist as soon as I take a few pictures of it.
Other than that, work is slowly coming along. Some big things up ahead hopefully.
By the way, I don't have time right now to write a full review, but to anyone who liked Fight Club I would definitely recommend reading Chuck Palahniuk's first bestseller, Choke . To quote the back of the book:
Victor Mancini, a medical-school dropout, is an antihero for our deranged times. Needing to pay elder care for his mother, Victor has devised an ingenious scam: he pretends to choke on pieces of food while dining in upscale restaurants. He then allows himself to be "saved" by fellow patrons who, feeling responsible for Victor's life, go on to send checks to support him. When he's not pulling this stunt, Victor cruises sexual addiction recovery workshops for action, visits his addled mom, and spends his days working at a colonial theme park. His creator, Chuck Palahniuk, is the visionary we need and the satirist we deserve.
Please note that this is a very disturbing book that isn't for the faint of heart. Any story of a man who has a sexual addiction is going to be hard to stomach. Regardless, it is a wonderful piece of literature and the reading is very self-guiding. Though not as good as Fight Club, this book is worth a read.
