No More Ads (Mostly)

I've removed the affiliate ads at the top and to the right of my blog. They weren't doing anything for me (bringing in a few dollars a month) and were an eyesore. It's amazing how easy it is to get into the mindset of trying to monetize everything. Some things are better left alone.

I think there needs to be a revolutionary change in ads soon. We have so much information about people and their habits, is there really no way of aggregating all that data to make advertising more effective? I am more than willing to look at a relevant ad for something I actually need or want, but if that ad is shown in the middle of hundreds of irrelevant ads, then what's the point?
